A caller claiming to be Mission Fire Rescue Service (MFRS) is offering free gifts to homeowners in exchange for a fire prevention assessment.
In a social media post on Wednesday (July 3), the fire department warned Mission residents of the subterfuge after it became aware of "numerous" calls.
"These calls are not from MFRS," the post reads.
Anyone who receives a call is urged to call the Mission RCMP non-emergency line At 604-826-7161.
