The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is investigating the theft of a 40-foot red shipping container from a rural property on Monday (April 15).

APD media officer Const. Art Stele said the container was on a property in the 6000 block of Lefeuvre Road and is believed to have been taken during the day.

Two flat-deck trucks with folding knuckle-boom cranes are suspected of having been used. One truck is described as having a black cab with chrome accents, and the other is described as having a red cab and towing a flat-deck trailer.

Stele said the container owners had not given permission for the item to be removed from their property nor were they present when it was taken.

He said police believe that the company or companies whose heavy equipment was used might have been unaware that the owners of the container had not consented to it being moved.

Th contents of the container have not being released.

Anyone who has information or dash-cam footage that can help to identify the company whose equipment was used is asked to contact Sgt. Cory Johansen at cory.johansen@abbypd.ca.
